Mama’s Banana Pudding
Casting Your Cares
1 Peter 5:7
Mama’s Banana Pudding
⅔ cup flour
12 oz evaporated milk
12 oz whole milk
6 eggs (separated, room temperature)
1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
4-5 ripe bananas
12 oz box Nilla Wafers
Pudding:
Whisk flour into 1 cup of the whole milk until thoroughly dissolved. Pour flour mixture and sugar into a medium saucepan and begin cooking on low heat, stirring consistently. Beat egg yolks only and add to saucepan, followed by the evaporated milk and remaining whole milk. Slowly cook up mixture to a pudding. Add vanilla extract. Finish with a whisk to help eliminate lumps.
Merengue:
Using a hand mixer on high speed, beat the egg whites with one tablespoon of cold water. Slowly add ¼ cup sugar. Whip until mixture forms soft peaks.
Directions:
Make a layer of cookie wafers, sliced bananas, then pudding. Repeat the layering. Then pour the merengue on top. Brown the merengue on broil (500 degrees) for 2 minutes. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours. For best results, refrigerate overnight.

“ Cast all your anxiety on Him , because He cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7 NRSV
Casting Your Cares
Can we talk about all you have been carrying around? Some of the burdens you expected, other responsibilities were unexpected. Maybe some of the obligations you have you should never had said yes too in the first place.
But now you have them. What are you going to do. You cannot keep going like this forever. Instead of feeling hopeless and overwhelmed , there is something that you can do about it.
You can cast your cares on the Lord. 1 Peter 5:7 says cast all your anxiety on Him , because he cares for you. Some versions, say cast your cares, or throw your anxiety on Him. And when you toss it over to Jesus, don’t take it back.
